One-to-One Service: Appointments are conducted on a one-to-one basis to ensure focused, unrushed care.
Accurate Information: Owners must provide accurate details regarding breed, coat condition, behaviour, and health at the time of booking.
Cancellations: We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Fees: Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a fee of 50% of the appointment cost. No-shows will be charged the full appointment fee.
Late Arrivals: Arrivals more than 15 minutes late will be treated as a no-show, and full charges will apply.
Late collection: A late collection fee of £5 per 10 minutes will apply for dogs collected after the pre notified time. Bark & Barrel reserves the right to refuse future appointments following repeated late collections.
Payments
Deposits: A deposit is required to secure all appointments.
Final Payment: Full payment is due upon collection via cash or card.
Pricing: Quotes are estimates based on breed and standard coat condition; additional charges apply for severe matting, difficult handling, or flea treatments.
Unpaid balances after 5 days incur a £50 late fee and may be pursued under the Fraud Act 2006 or through the Small Claims Court.
Health & Welfare
Your dog’s safety is our priority. We may stop a groom if a dog becomes distressed or aggressive.
Severely matted coats will be clipped short in line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Extra time is charged at £7.50 per 15 minutes.
Bark & Barrel is not responsible for skin issues, underlying conditions, or vet bills revealed during mat removal.
Dogs must be flea-free. A £25 sanitisation fee applies if fleas are found.
All medical conditions must be disclosed before grooming
Medical Conditions: Owners must disclose all health issues, including heart conditions, allergies, or mobility problems, prior to the groom.
